The hydrogen uptake during steam oxidation of Zircaloy-4 and E110 was investigated in situ in the temperature range of 1,000–1,300°C. The procedure to determine hydrogen concentrations from the neutron radiographs measured is explained in detail. [...]

In Situ Characterization at High Temperature of VDM Alloy 780 Premium to Determine Solvus Temperatures and Phase Transformations Using Neutron Diffraction and Small-Angle Neutron Scattering
2019TMS 2019 Annual Meeting & Exhibition, TMS2019, San Antonio, TexasSan Antonio, Texas, USA, 10 Mar 2019 - 14 Mar 20192019-03-102019-03-14

New Ni-based superalloy VDM 780 Premium has been developed forhigher service temperatures than the alloy 718. This paper describes the properties ofthis alloy bymeans of in situ neutron diffraction (ND) and in situ small-angle neutronscattering (SANS)measurements supported by scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM)images.NDexperiments showthe phases present in the alloy and their evolutionwithtemperature, which allow us to derive their respective solvus temperatures and themisfit between the hardening phase and the matrix and its change with temperature..

Provenance Analysis of Roman Limestone from the Moselle Valley via Neutron Activation: Research of the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (Germany)
2018Roman ornamental stones in North-Western Europe, TongerenTongeren, Belgium, 20 Apr 2016 - 22 Apr 20162016-04-202016-04-22
The provenance analysis of Roman limestone via neutron activation is a pilot study leaded by the JohannesGutenberg University Mainz in co-operation with the National Institute for Preventive ArchaeologicalResearch (INRAP, Metz), the Gallo-Roman Museum of Tongeren and the Directorate General of CulturalHeritage Rhineland-Palatinate, Koblenz. The most common stone material for ornamental craftwork during the first century AD in NorthwesternEurope was a fine white Jurassic limestone. Since the 19th century archaeologists and geologists believe that thequarries of this stone were located in the upper valley of the river Moselle near the city of Metz at the village ofNorroy-lès-Pont-à-Mousson (Goethert-Polaschek, 2002).
