Topological aspects of multi-k antiferromagnetism in cubic rare-earth compounds
We advertise rare-earth intermetallics with high-symmetry crystal structures and competing interactions as a possible materials platform hosting spin structures with non-trivial topological properties. Focusing on the series of cubic RCu compounds, where R = Ho, Er, Tm, the bulk properties of these systems display exceptionally rich magnetic phase diagrams hosting an abundance of different phase pockets characteristic of antiferromagnetic order in the presence of delicately balanced interactions. [...]

Hydrogen Bonding Competition Mediated Phase Separation with Abnormal Moisture‐Induced Stiffness Boosting
Small 20(36), 2401164 () [10.1002/smll.202401164]
Moisture usually deteriorates polymers’ mechanical performance owing to its plasticizing effect, causing side effects in their practical load-bearing applications. Herein, a simple binary ionogel consisting of an amphiphilic polymer network and a hydrophobic ionic liquid (IL) is developed with remarkable stiffening effect after moisture absorption, demonstrating a complete contrast to water-induced softening effect of most polymer materials. [...]

Effect of Embedded g-C$_{3}$N$_{4}$ Nanosheets on the Hydration and Thermal Response Behavior of Cross-Linked Thermoresponsive Copolymer Films
Langmuir 40(28), 14663 - 14673 () [10.1021/acs.langmuir.4c01630]
The effect of embedded graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) nanosheets on hydration and thermal response behavior of cross-linked thermoresponsive poly(di(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate-co-oligo(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate), abbreviated as P(MA-co-MA300), thin films is probed by white light interferometry. Compared with that of the cross-linked pure P(MA-co-MA300) films, the surface roughness of the cross-linked hybrid films is slightly increased, which is caused by the minor aggregation of g-C3N4 nanosheets during the spin-coating process. [...]

Influence of the magnetovolume effect on the transient reflectivity of MnSi
The magnetovolume effect is a well established yet frequently overlooked phenomenon in magnetic materials that may affect a wide range of physical properties. Our study explores the influence of the magnetovolume effect on the transient reflectivity of MnSi, a well-known chiral magnet with strong magnetoelastic coupling. [...]

Deep-seated crustal faults and their role in the thermo-tectonic evolution of an active mountain belt: New evidence from the Northern Andes
Deep-seated structures can exhume deep crustal rocks (>20 km), transmitting the signal of geodynamic processes from the subduction zone to the interiors of the continents. The role of deep-seated structures can be analyzed with low-temperature thermochronological dating techniques. [...]

The porous system of a reverse osmosis membrane − operando studies with small-angle neutron scattering
This manuscript deals with operando small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) on a reverse osmosis (RO) thin film composite (TFC) membrane, which was exposed to salt-free water at a transmembrane pressure of 25 bar and a transverse flow rate of 18 L/h. Permeate flux and electric conductivity were detected in parallel to SANS. [...]

Chiral perovskite-CdSe/ZnS QDs composites with high circularly polarized luminescence performance achieved through additive-solvent engineering
Chiral perovskite materials are being extensively studied as one of the most promising candidates for circularly polarized luminescence (CPL)-related applications. Balancing chirality and photoluminescence (PL) properties is of great importance for enhancing the value of the dissymmetry factor (glum), and a higher glum value indicates better CPL. [...]

Donor–Acceptor Copolymer with a Linear Backbone Induced Ordered and Robust Doping Morphology for Efficient and Stable Organic Electrochemical Devices
Donor (D)–acceptor (A) copolymer-based organic mixed ionic–electronic conductors (OMIECs) exhibit intrinsic environmental stability for they have tailored energy levels. However, their figure-of-merit (μC*) is still falling behind the D–D polymers because of morphology deterioration during the electrochemical doping process. [...]
